The executive discussed plans for the opening of the CBD upgrade. President Mark reported that he attended a meeting of traders, but the attendance was very poor. A further meeting will be held in July. It was suggested that all CBD traders be involved, not just those in Alexander and Florence street. The committee agreed with this. G, Bartel said she was confident of a good turn out at the opening especially if there were some free events such as face painting. President Mark said that perhaps there could also be a yearly event in the CBD.
The executive was given an update on Come See Change and K.-A. Saffin said a television film crew would soon be in the city to do more filming.
K.A. Saffin, M. Hanlon and G. Bartel were appointed as a sub-committee to look at rebranding the Chamber and to look a fee structure.
- Rohde said plans were in hand to hold festivities to coincide with the opening of the boat ramp in September.
- Johnson invited Chamber executive for a tour of the Memorial Oval Precinct on July 4.
- Bartel reported the first feed through the new plant would be in September.
